This is a well-renowned market that is vibrant in colors for the many fruit and vegetable stands set up every Sunday. This is an initiative taken by the government of Andaman to help the local talents showcase their innovation and productivity. All the items are sold at fixed prices. A wide range of spices (pesticide free) such as nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon are available under the tag ‘Spices of Andaman’ which are being sold for the past 30 years. You may shop for souvenirs, jute items, mirrors, wooden items, handicrafts, and clothes that have been incessantly prepared using hands. You would also be delighted to know that you can procure books on the local tribes and culture which has been indigenous to the island for the past thousands of years.
The market may be visited from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is closed on Mondays.
